Kayi - Swipe Flashcard Maker ("the App", "we", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your personal privacy and safeguarding your data. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when using the App.
1. Data Storage & Collection
All your learning activities remain strictly private to you:
- Decks and Cards: The flashcards, vocabulary entries, tags, notes, audio recordings, images, and video attachments you create are stored locally on your device in the application's private sandbox.
- Study Progress & Stats: Spaced-repetition history, accuracy rates, and mastery counts are computed locally on your device without transmitting data to external servers.
2. Cloud Synchronization (Apple iCloud)
When you enable iCloud Sync:
- Data syncs directly through Apple's native private CloudKit framework to your personal iCloud container.
- Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's infrastructure.
- We, as app developers, have no technical means or authorization to view, read, or decrypt your personal study material.
3. Device Permissions
The App requests access to system hardware only when explicitly initiated by you:
- Microphone: Used solely when recording audio clips for cards. Audio is stored locally in your deck's folder.
- Camera & Photo Library: Used only when taking or picking photos and videos for flashcard media attachments. We never access photos outside your explicit selection.
4. In-App Purchases & Financial Information
All subscription payments are processed securely by Apple StoreKit. Kayi does not collect or store your credit card information, bank details, or billing address. Apple only provides us with anonymous receipt validation to unlock Pro features.
5. Data Control & Export
You have full autonomy over your data:
- You can export your complete collection anytime as portable
.kayipackarchives via Settings > Data Management. - Deleting the app removes all local sandbox storage from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since no personal identifier accounts are used, all age groups enjoy full privacy protection.
